All registrants please be aware that in order to compete in the triathlon you will need to have a valid Triathlon Ireland membership number. You will be required to provide this number when registering for our triathlon. The Triathlon Ireland website is http://www.triathlonireland.com/ and if you are not a member, information on getting a one day license number can be found here . When your are registering for your Triathlon Ireland membership number or one day license number, you will be asked to choose races, our race is located in the list under "The Crystal Clear Triathlon" and will cost €15.
Also when registering you will be asked to enter your individual estimated times of completion for the events of the triathlon. This will help ensure athletes of similar ability will be matched together and help ensure that the event runs smoothly on the day.
*** UPDATE 15/01/2010 *****
The Triathlon is scheduled to take place on the 18th April 2010 (date is subject to change).
*** UPDATE 10/02/2010 *****
The Triathlon is scheduled to take place Sunday the 18th April 2010 at the later time of 4:00pm.
*** UPDATE 14/04/2010 ****
As you know the triathlon is on Sunday, starting at 4:00pm. There will be a race briefing for everyone between 3:30pm and 3:45pm which will take you all through the routes and rules etc. I would advise you all to be at the Swimming pool for before half 3, maybe even earlier to get to know the area etc. Everyone will be organised into waves / groups on the day and you will then start your race based on your wave number. Unfortunatly, this will involve some waiting about untill your wave start time. Also if you know anybody who would like to enter the race but has not yet registered online or has trouble registering online, they may turn up on the day and register. Registration should start 2 hours before the event around 2:00pm. Also, this is very important, make sure you bring your Triathlon Ireland Member ID and proof that it is valid etc. Otherwise you will not be able to take part in the race. You will also be required to sign in on arrival, sign in can take place anytime after 2pm, please leave a good bit of time in order to sign in (earlier the better). Please make sure you do so in order to get a race number and wave number. Good luck
Also i have been told that a Triathlon Ireland one day license will cover an entire team of 3 people each doing one part of the event.
